SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA – Following the public release of the 2022 first quarter finance numbers in the VA-07 Republican primary for Congress, Derrick Anderson continues to be the leader in fundraising having raised over $520,000 from over 7,000 individual donors since announcing his candidacy. Anderson raised the most money of any candidate in the race during the last quarter of 2021 as well. Anderson is the only candidate running for the VA-07 Republican nomination who has never run for or held public office.

This is a crucial deadline because it displays the strength each candidate will have heading into the June 21 primary and beyond into the general election against incumbent Congresswoman, Abigail Spanberger.

“My campaign is proving that we have the organization, resources, and strength to win the GOP nomination and be well-positioned to take on Abigail Spanberger in the general election. Over 7,000 donors have put their name and money on the line for my candidacy for Congress and I am honored and humbled by this. They know that the failed policies of Washington liberals like Nancy Pelosi and Abigail Spanberger are leading us down a path of no return if we do not win back the House in November,” said Anderson.

Derrick Anderson is a native of Spotsylvania County, a graduate of Courtland High School, was in the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech, and received his J.D. from Georgetown Law.  He is a former Special Forces “Green Beret” with 6 tours of duty overseas, including Afghanistan, Iraq, and various countries throughout the Middle East. Derrick is the only VA-07 candidate named to Young Gun’s “On the Radar” list, and is being supported by SealPAC and multiple sitting members of Congress, including the only Green Beret in Congress, Mike Waltz.
